Interior’s Salazar will tout Arizona energy

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar is scheduled to meet with California Gov. Jerry Brown this week, and if he keeps his word, he will tell the governor that several businesses in Arizona are eager to sell renewable energy into the Golden State…”Renewable energy has been a big part of our push, and it will continue to be a big part of our push,” Salazar said. “I’m often asked why we have so much success in California, and why we have not duplicated that success in Arizona or New Mexico.” The meeting included officials from Tempe-based First Solar Inc.; Spain-based Abengoa Solar, which is building a massive solar-power plant outside Gila Bend that Salazar visited earlier in the day; Salt River Project; Arizona Public Service Co.; land agencies; and several other organizations tied to renewable energy…(The Arizona Republic)
